EastEnders legend June Brown has quit the BBC soap after 35 years as Dot Cotton.
The 93-year-old actress has been disappointed in recent storylines and turned down the chance of signing a retainer contract but admitted it felt she had been "bereaved".
Dot left Walford last month after discovering that Martin Fowler was responsible for stealing her savings - despite her own grandaughter Sonia Fowler being to blame.
