EastEnders star Delroy Atkinson, who plays the role of Howie Danes in the soap, has quickly made a name for himself, but before arriving in Walford, he starred alongside Johnny Depp in a Hollywood movie. Delroy, 47 who hails from Southampton, first joined EastEnders in 2021 after Kim, played by Tameka Empson, discovered he had taken the identity of her missing husband, Vincent Hubbard. At first, Kim didn't appear to be keen on Howie, but it was only a matter of time before the two hit it off and began a relationship together which has already brought its fair share of tests.
Just recently, viewers have watched Kim struggling with her mental health, but Howie has proven to be there for his partner with the storyline set to unravel further this week. But before joining Albert Square, Delroy had a very interesting career history, let's take a closer look... Previous starring roles Prior to his EastEnders debut in late 2021, the actor appeared in Holby City and BBC's crime drama Luther, where he played the role of Derek Hayes in two episodes.
He also had a part in the critically acclaimed series, It's A Sin, which followed the story of a group of gay men and their friends during the HIV crisis in the 80s - he played the role of Mr Ibisu. Before soap stardom, Delroy had a taste of Hollywood success and starred in the 2017 Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales alongside Johnny Depp. Here he played the role of Pike, a pirate and one of the crew members of the Dying Gull - he carried a cutlass and a flintlock.
