EastEnders fans think they have worked out why Cindy Beale abandoned the Knight family after they spotted a clue in the "timeline". Cindy is returning to the Square this week for the first time in 25 years, and the locals think that she is dead. However, she didn't die, something happened while she was in prison, and she was put into witness protection for her safety.
As part of that witness protection, she was given the name Rose, and she moved to Spain, where she fell in love with George Knight and had two children, Gina and Anna.
The family spent many years together, but one day she decided it was time to leave, and the Knights had not seen her since. Fans of the BBC soap have been trying to work out why she left, as she is about to be reunited with her family.
Taking to Reddit, one fan questioned: "Cindy was living as "Rose" when she met, married George and had two daughters... but then she left.
"Now, did she leave because she just didn't want to be with them, or was she instructed to by the Witness Relocation Programme? "Maybe the bad guys were onto her... but then that would mean her family would have been in danger. And if they were in danger and she still wanted to be with them, then why didn't she take them with her into another identity?" While another thinks that she left them because of the death of her daughter, Lucy Beale.
