EastEnders fans 'can't cope' as BBC One soap airs two more character returns

After Thursday night’s episode of the BBC soap EastEnders, fans have been sent into a frenzy after Anna and Gina Knight found their mum’s old locket with a mystery date on it. George Knight, played by Colin Salmon, made his entrance in Albert Square last month alongside his two daughters Anna and Gina (played by Strictly's Molly Rainford and newcomer Francesca Henry). Since then, the drama in Albert Square hasn’t stopped and, in jaw-dropping scenes, Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) returned from the dead after 25 years off screen, having been said to have died in child birth while in prison.

EastEnders actor Paul Nicholls, who played the popular Joe Wicks on the BBC soap, is barely recognisable 25 years after his dramatic exit from Walford. The 44 year old star has taken on a new role in a BBC children's drama series Phoenix Rise.

EastEnders viewers were left "disappointed" on Wednesday's episode as fan favourite, Finlay Baker, played by Ashley Byam, left Walford.
