EastEnders fans have been left heartbroken as Billy Mitchell's tragic final goodbye to his granddaughter Lola Pearce-Brown has been aired. As Lola's friends and family prepare to attend her funeral which will air on Tuesday, Monday's episode (June 26) gave them the opportunity to pen words of their choice on her coffin. Lola heartbreakingly passed away at the end of May after a battle with a brain tumour.
Her loved ones entered a viewing where they spent their time having one last moment with her. Overwhelmed with emotion, grandad Billy found himself placing blame on Lola's husband Jay and his partner Honey for the Mitchell family treating her badly over the years. This was because when Lola, played by Danielle Harold, first arrived in 2011, the family didn't make her welcome.
As Lola deteriorated, Phil mentioned his appalling behaviour towards the mum-of-one as he struggled with her diagnosis. No matter how badly the Mitchell family treated Lola, she was never scared to stand up to them for what she believed in. Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) in particular, gave Lola a hard time over the years including trying to get full custody of Lola's daughter Lexi (Isabella Brown).
Lexi is the daughter of Phil's son Ben too. Despite their feud, Honey tried to convince Billy to go into the funeral parlour and have his final goodbye with Lola, while Jay got sent home by Linda and Gina for trying to drink before the funeral. This led to the heartbreaking scene, which showed Billy, played by Perry Fenwick, 61, going in for a viewing of the body and completely breaking down.

Up until now, Cindy, who is also the ex-wife of long running character Ian Beale, had widely been believed to have died in childbirth while serving time in prison, but as it emerged on Wednesday, rumours of Cindy’s death had been greatly exaggerated! The truth first came to light after Linda Carter had grown suspicious about newcomer George Knight and asked Phil Mitchell and Callum Highway to look into the identity of both George and his “missing” wife Rose. Yet when police officer Callum checked the police database, he soon stumbled upon a large red flag, when it was revealed the file for Rose Knight was restricted. To make matters worse, Callum was later chastised by his superiors for looking into the situation, and was warned not to pursue the matter and to "forget he had ever heard" the name Rose Knight.
