Just days after his car was sabotaged in an attempt to kill Eve Unwin, Finlay Baker may have unwittingly sealed his fate as he came dangerously close to uncovering the real truth about why the motor had been sabotaged. As regular EastEnders viewers will know, Vinny tampered with the brakes on the car last week, after he knew Eve would be borrowing the motor for a trip to Brighton, and wanted her out of the picture permanently, after he discovered she and his mum Suki Panesar had been engaging in an affair.
While in the garage however, Vinny wasn’t careful enough to cover his tracks, with the hapless villain leaving his chain behind at the scene of the crime - something which soon alerted Finlay to the the identity of the criminal - but not the reason why he had taken umbrage with him. Confused by the sudden vendetta, thinks only escalated further on Monday, when Vinny trashed Finlay’s market stall as a means of “warning him” to keep his mouth shut and refrain from going to the police, something which soon got him digging into the real reason behind the bizarre and dangerous behaviour.
Confronting Suki over the incident later in the episode, Finlay told her “It wouldn’t even have been me or Felix that would’ve been hurt. Even was meant to be driving that night.
Unless you knew that…but why would he try and kill Eve? Did she steal some money or mess up some papers? Or is it something more personal?” Skirting dangerously close to rumbling her secret, a shaken Suki soon ordered him to leave her house as she attempted to clean up Vinny’s mess - but fans at home are convinced Finlay is playing with fire, with several wondering just how far the family was willing to go in order to save face and protect the secret.
