Heartbreaking scenes on EastEnders set to air in upcoming episodes will see Lola Pearce being serenaded by her husband, Jay, during a trip to the beach. Lola was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and given just months to live in October 2022, and with actress Danielle Harold having already filmed her final scenes, things are set to get devastatingly tragic for her character.
In the images, Lola is seen wrapped up warm in a white padded coat and lilac hoodie with a blanket on her lap as Jay, played by Jamie Borthwick, plays his guitar. Despite the overwhelming sadness of the scene, Lola appears to be in great spirits as she enjoys her husband's musical talents against a scenic coastal backdrop.
The snaps come after Danielle broke her silence after she filmed some of her last scenes for BBC soap EastEnders. The 30 year old actress took to Instagram on Wednesday, where she penned a touching message to thank fans for their support. She shared a picture which showed Lola lying in her hospital bed as Jay and Max Bowden's Ben Mitchell are standing alongside the latter's husband, Callum Highway.
Captioning the post, Danielle explained: "Lola's story has been a very hard one to tell and one that means so much to me and sadly affects so many people. "Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer yet historically only 1% of research is allocated to this devastating disease.
"I would like to take a moment for everybody that has reached out to me and shared their experiences with me, I have read every message And hold all of your messages close to my heart whilst playing this story. I have been blessed to meet the most incredible people and work with some wonderful charities along the way and
