Married at First Sight's Peggy Rose has taken to social media to confirm that she has split up with Georges Berthonneau following them both appearing on the E4 reality show as a married couple.
Peggy announced she was 'heartbroken' at the news as she told her 206,000 followers: "I'm so sorry I've been quiet on socials everybody but there's a reason for my silence. Me and Georges are no longer together and I'm absolutely heartbroken.
"It's affected my mental health and it's taken me weeks to come to terms with it but with it being Valentine's Day, I can't pretend to be OK. Thank you to everyone who has supported us and our journey... Nobody is more upset about it than me x."
Georges also took to social media shortly afterwards taken aback by his ex's announcement according to the Mirror. He wrote: "Wasn't expecting a statement from Peggy regarding this situation.
"I'm heartbroken by our breakup and also trying to come to terms with life without Peggy. I appreciate a lot of you have questions but I won't be talking about this situation as of yet. Also thank you for the messages of support."
The former couple were matched by the experts on the reality dating series in 2023 and had a very turbulent time in their relationship, with Georges often feeling he was 'not good enough' for his bride.
He became an internet sensation for his infamous 'baguettes' where gamers would pay him in gameplay money - called baguettes - to do ridiculous things on camera including twerking, which his bride Peggy and family had a huge issue with.
