Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Cold Weather Payments have been triggered for more than 200,000.
A total of 211 postcodes in England and Wales are now due to receive an extra £25 to go towards their heating bills as temperatures drop. The latast areas to receive the money are postcodes in Oxfordshire, Yorkshire, Northumberland, Norfolk, Staffordshire, and Powys - with the payment triggered on Saturday, January 13.
It comes after 10,000 people in Cumbria and Northumberland triggered the payment just one day prior on Friday, January 12. Overall, 550 postcodes have received the Cold Weather Payment since the start of winter.

This means the DWP has issued a total of £24.4 million towards heating bills. This includes several postcode areas where more than one payment has been made. In parts of Cumbria, eligible households received three payments, making a total of £75 towards heating costs this winter.
Cold Weather Payments are issued to people in England and Wales who receive one of a variety of benefits. They are triggered when the average temperature in an area is recorded as or forecasted to be zero degrees celsius or below for seven consecutive days, between November 1 and March 31.
Those claiming the following benefits may be eligible for the Cold Weather Payment; Pension Credit, Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA), income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), Universal Credit, Support for Mortgage Interest. Not everyone on these benefits will automatically receive a Cold Weather Payment. There are a number of factors which will determine whether a payment will be made
