A deadline for many benefit claimants will land tomorrow (January 26).
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has been issuing Winter Fuel Payments across the country, with the majority in November or December of last year. Many eligible Brits will have already received up to £600 from the payment which was issued alongside the £300 Pensioner Cost of Living Payment.
However, some eligible people may have not received the payment when they should have. In this case, the DWP advises waiting until Thursday this week to see if the cash has landed in your account.

The DWP guidance states: "If you do not get a letter or the money has not been paid into your account by 26 January 2024, contact the Winter Fuel Payment Centre."
The DWP has highlighted that while most payments were made automatically in November and December, this might not cover all. The government department advises people to wait until January 26, 2024.
If they don't receive the Winter Fuel Payment or a letter informing of the payment by then, you should contact the Winter Fuel Payment Centre and tell them you were expecting the money and have double-checked your bank account.
You can contact the Winter Fuel Payment Centre by either dialling 0800 731 0160 or sending a letter to the following address:
