The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed when millions will receive £300 this autumn as part of the £900 cost of living payment.
It will mean a great amount of relief for those who have been facing insurmountable financial pressure from the cost of living crisis. The cost of living payments are a set of relief payments given to those on certain benefits to help them afford things such as rent and basic necessities.
Mel Stride, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, said: “The best way we can boost bank balances is by bearing down on inflation, but as we get there, we are ensuring the most vulnerable households are cushioned from high prices with a further Cost of Living payment."

Here's everything you need to know about the autumn cost of living payment...
The DWP has confirmed that it will begin sending out the £300 autumn cost of living payment from October 31 until November 19. Initially, this will only be paid out to claimants who receive their benefit payments primarily from the DWP.
However, those who receive benefit payments from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), such as Tax Credits, will begin receiving their cash from November 10 until November 19.

In order to qualify for the autumn cost of living payment, you must have received payment for an eligible means-tested benefit or Tax Credit during the qualifying period between August 18, 2023 and September 17, 2023 .
