Dreamcatcher add second LA show to upcoming North American tour

Thania Garcia Mark L. Perthel, vice president of Ambassador Theatre Group’s North American music division, died on June 24 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, the company has confirmed to Variety.

Nova Twins have announced their second tour of North America for 2022, returning with their just-released ‘Supernova’ album.The London-native punk duo made their stateside debut back in March, performing a showcase at this year’s SXSW alongside a handful of club gigs. The ‘Supernova’ tour will be their first proper trek of the continent as a headlining act, with 11 intimate shows lined up across September and October.They’ll start at The Roxy Theatre in LA, performing on Tuesday September 27, before rolling through San Francisco and Seattle over the last few days of the month.

Alvvays have announced they’ll kick off a North American headline tour in October, and have also seemingly teased new music.The Canadian dream pop outfit will commence the run on October 14 in Chicago, continuing along with shows in Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Texas, Washington, Philadelphia, New York and more before wrapping up November 18 in Boston. Joining the band on the road will be Slow Pulp.

Declan McKenna has announced he’ll embark on a North American tour in September in support of latest album ‘Zeros’, over two years since it arrived and marking his first shows Stateside since 2019.The 15-date run will begin on September 25 at in Seattle, and will also include stops in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Brooklyn, Atlanta, Texas and more. Support for the tour will come from singer-songwriter Annie DiRusso.

Turnstile have shared an official music video for their ‘Glow On’ album cut ‘New Heart Design’, alongside the news of a North American theatre tour slated for October.The video offers newcoming fans a preview of what to expect from the tour, comprising a montage of shots filmed during their recent stints in North America and Europe. Shot entirely on 16mm film, it was co-directed by singer Brendan Yates and longtime collaborator Ian Hurdle, the latter of whom captured the concert footage. As for the song itself, the version of ‘New Heart Design’ featured in the video sports an extended ambient outro. Foals will head out on a tour of North America in support of their new album ‘Life Is Yours’ in October, the band have announced.The jaunt will mark the first time the Oxford band have played live in the US and Canada since taking their ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost’ tour there in 2019.The band will kick off the new tour at Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 28, with the run continuing throughout November and December. The darkly comic drama pairs Oscar-nominated Lebanese star and filmmaker Nadine Labaki (“Capernaum”) and Palestinian actor Saleh Bakri (“The Band’s Visit”) as a couple who has moved from Beirut to live idyllically in the mountains, until one day the government decides to build a garbage landfill right beside their house.

Anna Marie de la Fuente Chef Mauro Colagreco of the three-Michelin star restaurant Mirazur will be attending the June 13 North American premiere of the documentary “Reinventing Mirazur” at the Tribeca Film Festival.  In a clip released ahead of its premiere in Variety, Colagreco explains the new philosophy behind the restaurant’s menus, borne out of the pandemic.As described, the doc takes “a deep dive into the life of Chef Mauro, who finds himself changing everything about his flagship restaurant after the COVID-19 pandemic halted his worldwide rise to prominence.”Forced to go into hiatus not long after his Menton, France-based restaurant was awarded the coveted three Michelin stars and the No.1 spot in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list in 2019, Colagreco spent more time in his estate’s vast vegetable and flower garden and came up with the idea to introduce menus pegged to the cycles of the moon. Since he sourced all the restaurant’s fresh produce from his garden, where planting and harvesting were timed according to the moon’s cycles, the menus would undergo a radical change.
