Drake‘s rep is speaking out to share his side of the story amid drama with Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry.
The rapper dropped his new song “Slime You Out” featuring SZA last week and the song’s artwork features a photo of Halle covered in slime while attending the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
Halle then spoke out in two separate comments to say that she did not agree to be on Drake‘s artwork and that he even asked for permission and she said “no.”
Now, Drake‘s rep is sharing a statement to clear up the drama.

“Halle at first stated he can use her photo but then said no after further conversations because she assumed it was for his official cover art, which that wasn’t the case,” a rep for Drake told EW.
The rep added, “We have corrected things with Halle Berry and want everyone to move on.”
EW also obtained a screenshot of Drake‘s Instagram DM with a rep explaining the situation.
“I normally don’t release statements, but if you can express to the media that feel I used Halle Berry picture without her permission… let’s correct this, I did DM Halle Berry and got her permission, she said no,” Drake said. “I went to the company and we got [their] permission but I love Halle Berry and this has been taken out of context. What we should be focused on is the new album and my new record and the executive producer of Slime You Out, who is fighting cancer. Let’s keep it positive.”
In another comment from Halle that just surfaced, she confirmed that Drake‘s people reached out.
“He did have his people call my people and I said NO I didn’t like that image of slime all over my face in association with his song. And he chose to do it anyway! You see… that is the disrespect. Not cool!” she said.
