Downton Abbey's Joanne Froggatt has shared the exciting news that she's expecting her first child.
The 43 year old actress proudly showed off her baby bump at the Into Film Awards, held at London's Odeon Luxe in Leicester Square. Looking radiant in a red mini dress and matching heels, Joanne was all smiles as she cradled her growing bump for the cameras. Last year, the Downton Abbey star was spotted hand-in-hand with a handsome chap named Mark, sparking rumours of a new romance.
At the time, insiders claimed that Joanna was "besotted with" the mystery man. Despite this, Joanne has remained tight-lipped about her love life and has yet to reveal who the father of her baby is. Joanne has been a familiar face on our screens for almost 30 years, with her career taking her from The Bill in 1996 to Coronation Street and Sherwood.
More recently, she took on the lead role in ITV's drama Breathtaking, playing Dr Abbey Henderson during the first wave of Covid. Her personal life has seen some significant changes too. In 2012, Joanne married IT consultant James Cannon and they set up home in Buckinghamshire, reports the Mirror.
Speaking about their relationship to The Telegraph, she said: "He's passionate about film and theatre, so we have a common interest and he's not in the business, so it's perfect." In a candid chat back in February 2020, Joanne Froggatt shared with the press that she and her husband James Cannon had called it quits.
