The real-life Paddington star known for playing Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham to Downton Abbey lovers, Hugh Bonneville is on UK screens from Thursday (June 27) in Douglas is Cancelled.
Focusing on the idea of 'cancel culture' in the media, the four-part comedy drama takes place in the land of television news. Hugh Bonneville is the national treasure of the title who puts his foot in it, while Doctor Who star Karen Gilan plays his sidekick, Madeline.
Hugh has been in all manner of comedies and drama, on big and small screens. In honour of the new ITV show which sees the 60-year-old team up with former Doctor Who writer Stephen Moffat, here's all you need to know.

Hugh is from Paddington in London, where he was born 60 years ago. His mum was a nurse and his dad a surgeon, and his real name is Hugh Richard Bonniwell Williams.
After appearing as Richard Bonneville for ten years, he changed Richard to Hugh. He studied theology at Cambridge, then he studied at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
His first professional stage appearance was at the Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park. In 1987, he joined the National Theatre where he appeared in several plays, then the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1991.
Hugh's feature film debut was in 1994's Mary Shelley's Frankenstein with Robert De Niro and Kenneth Branagh. In James Bond's Tomorrow Never Dies, in 1997, he had a small role playing a naval sailor.
His early small roles included appearances in Notting Hill (1999) and Mansfield Park (1999). He appeared in a number of literary adaptations for the BBC, then played opposite Kate
