BAFTA host David Tennant's wife has revealed she 'planned her own funeral' after fearing the worst over a cancer scare.
Georgia, who tied the knot with the Scottish Doctor Who star in 2011, previous suffered a cancer scare, with signs of the disease thankfully caught early.
The 39-year-old urged other women to book smear tests in a 2018 blog post, according to the Mirror. She said the test saved her life as medics 'cut it out' before the cancer had a chance to develop.
Sharing an image of herself in a hospital gown, she wrote: "Here I am on 22nd February 2018. Although 'tis indeed a fetching look, if you'd like to learn more about why you should never miss a smear test please read the story attached in bio. #cervicalscreeningawarenessweek."
The mum-of-five continued: "Before I'd made it up upstairs to tell my husband, I'd started planning my funeral. Having kids takes you to that place pretty quickly I find."
Georgia was diagnosed with CIN2, a pre-cancer which heightens the risk that abnormal cells will develop into cervical cancer. She then underwent a cervical excision to remove any abnormal cells.
David once reflected on his relief doctors caught it in time. Speaking to The Daily Telegraph: "At least we were spared the prospect of living with, ‘You’ve got this, and can it be caught?’ But I still have these flashbacks of ‘What if you hadn’t…?’ I don’t think I acknowledged at the time how serious it could have been."
