Dakota Johnson to Star in Netflix Adaptation of Jane Austen’s ‘Persuasion’

Henry Golding has now joined the cast of Netflix's upcoming adaptation of Jane Austen's Persuasion. It was announced on Wednesday that the Crazy Rich Asians star will be starring alongside Dakota Johnson in the film.

Amy Adams’ Bond Group Entertainment and Jake Gyllenhaal’s Nine Stories have won the rights in competitive bidding to develop and produce Suzanne Simard’s just-published memoir, Finding the Mother Tree. Adams will star as Simard, a world renowned scientist and ecologist who first discovered how trees communicate underground through an immense web of fungi.

50 Shades fame actress Dakota Johnson will reportedly be starring in streaming giant Netflix‘s new movie, Persuasion, which is an adaptation of Jane Austen’s famed novel. Broadway director, Carrie Cracknell, will be making her feature film debut for the project, Variety also reports.

Dakota Johnson has signed on to star in Persuasion, Netflix and MRC Entertainment’s modern take on the Jane Austen novel. Theater director Carrie Cracknell, who directed Jake Gyllenhall and Tom Sturridge to Tony nominations last year in Sea Wall/ A Life on Broadway, will make her feature helming debut with the project.
