UFC 285 is headlined by the fight between Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane, but they weren't the only superstars at the weigh-in. Actor Jake Gyllenhaal, bulky as ever, also stepped on the scale. Incognito (★★★☆☆) enter dancing — or, rather, they enter arranging themselves into dancerly poses around an elegantly minimal set. The effect definitely is mystifying, if awkward-looking, whatever impact is intended by director Allison Arkell Stockman and movement director Emma Jaster. The brief movement prelude to this intricate puzzle of interconnecting stories, written by Nick Payne, makes for a shaky start in a production that, at times, seems taxed by the effort to tie together the play’s disparate threads and timelines. The four-person ensemble, playing 20 characters total, perform admirably in distinguishing the main figures featured, including Dr.

juicy (watch the trailer above). The official synopsis for “Love & Death” describes the new HBO Max original series as “the true story of Candy and Pat Montgomery and Betty and Allan Gore – two churchgoing couples enjoying their smalltown Texas life… until an extramarital affair leads somebody to pick up an axe.” Judging by the shots of a blood-splattered Olsen walking down a hall, she seems to be the one who picks up said axe.Kelley wrote the new series and Lesli Linka directed the first first four and final episode of the seven-episode limited series. Kelley is also responsible for HBO sensations “Big Little Lies” and “The Undoing.” He is currently working on a bunch of high-profile projects for various streamers, including a “Presumed Innocent” series for Apple TV+, based on the novel by Scott Turow, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and co-produced by J.J.
Marc Malkin Senior Film Awards, Events & Lifestyle Editor What better way to celebrate Jamie Lee Curtis’ Oscar nomination for her work in “Everything Everywhere All at Once” then by slipping on a pair of hot dog finger gloves? That’s exactly what a star-studded crowd did Wednesday night during a party for the Hollywood icon at Dear Jane’s in Marina del Ray. Demi Lovato, Demi Moore, Melanie Griffith, Amy Landecker, Amanda de Cadenet, Jennifer Grey, Katey Sagal, Tiffany Haddish and Jaimie Alexander donned the gloves to sip drinks, eat turkey hot dogs and pose for laugh-filled photo ops. “The first time I met Jamie we did a movie together called ‘She’s in the Army Now,’” Griffith told me. “This was 1980. I remember having to go through basic training with Jamie. We might have met before that, but that’s when we became friends.”

With a long and varied career under his belt, Jake Gyllenhaal has earned the right to develop whatever projects he wants — and it looks like he wants to work with every A-list action director he can get his hands on. EXCLUSIVE: For his first interview on the edgy drama Magazine Dreams that makes its Sundance Premiere tonight, Jonathan Majors was pulling into Park City, after driving for days cross country from New York. While Majors is one of Hollywood’s fastest rising stars after turns in The Last Black Man in San Francisco, Lovecraft Country, The Harder They Fall and Da 5 Bloods, he was not going to drive up a small film’s limited budget with pricey airfare. Magazine Dreams is written and directed by Elijah Bynum, and produced by Jennifer Fox and Dan Gilroy, the latter of whom made Nightcrawler. Just like the unhinged photog played by Jake Gyllenhaal, Majors has gone all in physically and emotionally to transform himself into the equally extreme Killian Maddox. An aspiring amateur bodybuilder, Maddox is socially awkward and slavishly devoted to the solitary pursuit of body culture, and the drama traces how his obsession plunges him down the proverbial rabbit hole in an effort to be noticed for his physique. It is a tour de force performance that will conjure memories of De Niro’s Travis Bickle, and the work Majors put in physically is impossible to not notice. Here, Majors talks about the truths about the invisibility and stereotyping of many people, and the darkness that creates combustible conditions that often end in tragedy.
