Brian Steinberg Senior TV Editor Desi Lydic, who has gained notice during her recent tenure as one of the correspondents at Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” has signed with Artists First, the talent-management firm known for its stable of comic actors. Lydic joined “The Daily Show” as a correspondent in September 2015, just as Trevor Noah started his tenure as host.
Since his exit late last year, she has served as a solo guest host and last month co-hosted alongside Jordan Klepper. Her work as a correspondent won her the 2020 Webby Award for “Best Web Personality/Host/” Her work on the show has led to other opportunities.
She starred in the viral series, “Desi Lydic: Foxsplains,” which earned her a 2022 Emmy Award nomination for “Outstanding Actress In A Short Form Comedy Or Drama Series.” In May 2019, she debuted her first one-hour special, “Desi Lydic: Abroad” where she set out on a global expedition to explore how and why the U.S. has fallen so far behind much of the world when it comes to women and education, economics, health, and politics.
In 2020, she explored the remarkable life and legacy of the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah Presents: Remembering RBG – A Nation Ugly Cries with Desi Lydic.” Lydic will next be seen in the upcoming film, “Space Cadet” with Emma Roberts and Gabrielle Union.
Her previous credits include a starring role on MTV’s hit comedy series “Awkward,” FXX’s “The League” and Cameron Crowe’s “We Bought a Zoo.” Lydic is a professionally trained improvisational and comedic actress who studied and performed at The Groundlings and ImprovOlympic. She continues to be represented by CAA, Yorn Levine and Independent Public Relations.

G-Dragon has reportedly signed with a new agency called GALAXY Corporation.In a press release received by NME today (December 20), GALAXY Corporation announced that it will be holding a press conference tomorrow (December 21) to address G-Dragon’s recently drug investigation, as well as to detail the musician’s plans for 2024.According to Korea Daily, GALAXY Corporation is an “AI metaverse company”, and also produced Netflix’s hit reality TV series Physical: 100, alongside other shows.Last week, it was reported that South Korean police would close the investigation into G-Dragon‘s suspected drug use. According to Korea JoongAng Daily, the case was not referred to prosecutors and was officially closed on Tuesday (December 19).The news of G-Dragon signing with a new agency also comes roughly half-a-year after the musician’s exclusive contract with YG Entertainment expired in June 2023.
