A creep sent an obscene message over Facebook to a woman he had a crush on while in high school.
Dhruv Kolhatkar left his former schoolmate “alarmed and shocked” when she discovered the vile messages sent to her on social media.
The 30-year-old sent complimentary messages to the victim every other day for two-and-a-half years which she never saw because they were archived.
But when she finally saw the haul of posts, she discovered an offensive screed from Kolhatkar.
The message included phrases such as “talking rape toy” and “daddy’s princess f*** wh***”.
Kolhatkar appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday and admitted sending a message which was grossly offensive, indecent, obscene or menacing in character. Fiscal depute Emma Laing told the court that Kolhatkar had an “interest” in the woman during their school days but the “feeling was not mutual”.
Ms Laing said Kolhatkar sent the woman messages over Facebook but they went to the site’s archive so she didn’t see them. The court heard the woman was having lunch and Kolhatkar’s name came up in conversation in March this year.
Ms Laing said the woman checked her Facebook page for the last mention of Kolhatkar she’d seen and found it was from July 7 2020.
The prosecutor said Kolhatkar had then sent messages “almost every other day” which were “not of a sexual nature” and were “complimentary”
But she said a single message on January 15 this year left the woman shocked by the contents.
