Coronation Street actress Tina O'Brien has hinted her character Sarah Barlow will be in for a 'messy' few weeks. For several weeks, the factory worker has been betraying her husband Adam Barlow (Sam Robertsons) by having an affair with Weatherfield bad boy Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths). But their secret romance appears to be setting up a dramatic storyline for the characters involved with episodes set to air next week.
Speaking at the British Soap Awards 2023, Tina, 39, told the Daily Star: "It's all gonna come out, it’s just the tip of the iceberg, it’s messy and it’s about to get more messy. "The soap star also suggested the affair isn't the only thing to come out. Discussing her usually "quite well behaved" character, Tina said "maybe there’s some more bad behaviour in addition to her affair".
But she stressed "eventually there’s got to be a comeuppance". Tina has also revealed Sarah will fall pregnant but realise she isn't sure who the father is. "There's going to be a troubling time that she realises she is with child but she is unsure as to who the father of the child is going to be," said Tina.
"That's the mess, here comes the box being opened, and then she’s thinking, 'Was it even worth it? Of course it wasn't' but hey. "An episode next week will see Sarah in hot water when she tries to organise a family day out her son Harry Platt and husband Adam. However, things go awry when the youngster gets upset telling his parents he doesn't want a new dad.
Sarah attempts to convince Adam she has no idea what Harry’s talking about. In an attempt to diffuse the situation, she admits to her son that she did kiss Damon and that they should keep it a secret. However, Harry goes straight to Adam and declares Sarah a liar
