Coronation Street fans were horrified as legendary Ken Barlow (played by Bill Roache) collapsed on Monday (10 June) night's episode.
The moment has left viewers in fear that they may be able to lose yet another main character following the news of actress Helen Worth’s, who portrays Gail Platt, exit. During the episode, Ken was enjoying a drink with his friends in The Rovers pub when he took a strange turn - suddenly feeling dizzy, he gripped the table for support.
Barman Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) spotted him and asked: “You alright there Ken? You had one too many?” Ken responded with: “It’s not the drink, I think I might be coming down with something.” Ken then told his pals he wasn’t “feeling 100%” and had decided to go home. With Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) concerned, Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) offered to go and check on Ken.
But when he doesn’t come to the door, Bobby is forced to call through the letterbox where he saw Ken on the floor struggling to get up. With no one able to get into the house, Bobby called an ambulance and the police for Ken who was then rushed to hospital.
Viewers were concerned for Ken, with one commenting: “Ken really isn't well. I think something is up like an illness.” Another added: “Don’t like the idea that Ken is ill.
