Coronation Street star Sally Ann Matthews has issued a 'don't ever' warning to her co-star after being seen in tears on screen. The actress, who plays Jenny Connor in the ITV soap, was seen paying tribute to Corrie icon Barbara Knox during a special programme to mark her milestone birthday.
Barbara Knox at 90 aired on Friday night (October 13) following a dramatic hour-long episode of Corrie which saw the permanent exit of Stephen Reid actor Todd Boyce. The special documentary saw Barbara joined by Bradley Walsh as he explored her life before fame and her five decades on the cobbles.
The actress, who plays Rita Tanner in the ITV soap, was seen breaking down in tears as former Corrie star and The Chase host Bradley took her to the Blackpool Tower's famous ballroom where they enjoyed afternoon tea and dancing, much like she did with her own family.

Sally was also watching the programme herself and responded to comments Barbara made about retirement. She pondered over the prospect of saying goodbye to it all and retiring. "Unbelievable really isn’t it? How the years have gone," she says.
"And what we’ve crammed into the years and how fortunate I have been, in being in the Street for about 50 or 60 of them.
