Coronation Street fans complain and ask 'how would he know' after 'bizarre' Peter Barlow remark

Coronation Street fans have been left complaining and asking 'how would he know' following Tuesday night's episode (October 24). Viewers of the ITV soap are still witnessing the fallout from Stephen Reid's death after he was killed by Peter Barlow on Friday, October 13.
Serial killer Stephen, played by Todd Boyce, was knocked down by Peter, played by Chris Gascoyne, after believing he was going to hurt Jenny Connor. After Stephen fell to his death, Peter was then arrested and questioned for his murder, but told police that he was trying to save Jenny.
Peter had initially claimed that he ran over Stephen to stop him from killing Jenny, after he placed a broken glass bottle up to her throat, but what he seemingly did not realise was that Stephen already had dropped the bottle and let Jenny go when he ran over and killed him.

In the latest episode, a heartbroken Audrey Roberts wanted answers as to why Peter really killed her son. The grieving mum turned up to Peter's flat alongside Jenny as she asked him: "I just want to ask you a question Peter, why did you kill my son?".
Peter then responded: "Audrey, I'm sorry for your loss, but like I told you and the police he was dangerous and he was going to hurt Jenny," but Audrey then snapped back, "No he wasn't, and he told her," whilst looking over to Jenny, who then responded: "It's true that's what he said."
Peter then stood there stunned, as Audrey repeated: "So I'll ask you again, why did you really kill my son?." Peter then came back with: "Even if what Jenny is saying happened, I couldn't
