Cops uncover huge cannabis farm with 300 plants during dawn raids in Stockport

Police uncovered a huge cannabis farm with more than 300 plants following dawn raids in Stockport today (Friday).
Officers made the find after executing a warrant at a property on Avenue Street in Portwood, Stockport, following 'concerns from the local community and gathered intelligence', according to GMP.
The 300-plus cannabis plants found are said to have a street value of £40,000.

The discovery was made during an operation by GMP's Stockport central neighbourhood team whose officers executed a warrant issued by the court under the Misuse of Drugs act.
Pictures from the scene revealed a sophisticated operation, with specialist lighting to encourage growth.
After the raid Inspector John Picton said: "Greater Manchester Police won't tolerate the cultivation of cannabis or supply of drugs and will always take decisive action. Proactively combating the production, supply and possession of drugs is a huge priority.
"We will continue to execute further warrants across Stockport and will continue to apprehend those responsible for cultivating, selling, and distributing illegal drugs and substances in our community.
"Our officers in Stockport are committed to supporting the community, building public trust and confidence. Our response officers, neighbourhood teams and proactive units will continue to work collaboratively with partners and the community to combat crime, bringing offenders to justice.
