A huge new logistics centre just off the M62 has been approved.
The HPARK development is thought to be one of the largest in the north, with 430,000 sq ft of space now given the green light by Rochdale council.
Just nine miles from Manchester city centre and directly accessed off the M62 and M66, via the new link road - this new space will form part of a wider redevelopment of south Heywood.

Russells South Heywood (Commercial) Limited, a subsidiary of Russell Homes, claimed this plan will provide a significant regional base for a distribution and logistics operator.

This is one part of the South Heywood Masterplan approved back in March 2020. The scheme is a major, mixed-use urban extension, which is located on land bound by Manchester Road, Hareshill Road and Pilsworth Road, west of Junction 19 of the M62 in Rochdale.
A new link road between Junction 19 of the M62 and Pilsworth Road has already been delivered and up to 1,000 new homes, a new primary school, shops, recreation space including sports pitches are also planned.
Andrew Russell, managing director of Russells, said: “We are delighted Rochdale council has approved our application for an additional 430,000 sq ft of space. This takes the total planning approved, of Industrial and Logistics space at HPARK, to 1.9m sq ft, and further strengthens the local and wider economy.
