The National Fish and Chip Awards has announced the top 40 entries for the Fish and Chip Takeaway of the Year category – with several top Scottish chippies making the list.

Thania Garcia Lil Baby will be honored with the Quincy Jones Humanitarian Award at the second annual Music in Action Awards Gala, hosted by the Black Music Action Coalition and taking place Sept. 22 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. The ceremony will celebrate artists, executives, businesses, entrepreneurs, activists, and companies that have utilized their platforms to effect social change over the past year, according to BMAC. Lil Baby will be honored for his contribution to racial and social justice inside and outside of the music industry. Recently, the Atlanta-born rapper hosted his third annual “Back to School Fest” at Atlanta’s West End Mall. In partnership with Goodr, the event provided over 3,000 local children with music, games, carnival rides, food, backpacks, school supplies, and haircuts. Additionally, Lil Baby worked with Atlanta restaurateur Lemont Bradley to offer 100 jobs to young adults and established the $150,000 “My Turn” scholarship program for students at his former high school. Previous recipients of this award include the Weeknd and H.E.R. who both received the award at the inaugural Music in Action Awards Gala in 2021.

The firearms officer who fatally shot Chris Kaba in south London a week ago has been suspended from duty over the incident, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Stormzy addressed the crowd at a London march protesting the killing of Chris Kaba today (September 10), urging them to “keep going”.Kaba, 24, was shot dead by a Metropolitan Police officer on Monday (September 5) after the car he was in was flagged by an automatic number plate as potentially being linked to a firearms offence.A police chase followed, and armed police surrounded the vehicle in a narrow street. Kaba was killed by a single gunshot wound, although a search later revealed he was not armed.

The album cover features a Mount Rushmore-style depiction of Lil Baby’s different life stages in a similar expressionist painting style that began with “My Turn.” The goats from his 2020 album cover have begun growing horns in the “It’s Only Me” cover, a not-so-subtle indication of where Lil Baby believes his rap career is heading.

Hollywood star Jessica Chastain accepted a “beautiful” painting from a young girl during a “life-changing” trip to Ukraine where she had the “opportunity to meet incredible children”. The Oscar-winning actress, who visited capital Kyiv in early August, said she needed a few weeks to “process everything” she saw there. Nick Cave has announced an audiobook to accompany his new memoir Faith, Hope And Carnage, which he also narrates.The artist’s upcoming work is based on 40 hours of interviews between Cave and his friend, the Observer journalist Seán O’Hagan, and is released on September 20. It’s not clear if the audiobook is released on the same day – you can pre-order it in the UK here.Faith, Hope And Carnage will cover Cave’s perspective and personal life over the six years following the death of his son, Arthur, who died in July 2015 at the age of 15.

Atlanta rapper JID has revealed the tracklisting for his new The Forever Story. The album, out August 26 via Dreamville, is packed with special guests including verses from Lil Durk and Lil Wayne. Executive produced by longtime DJ and producer Christo, the album includes the singles "Dance Now" and "Surround Sound." The former features Kenny Mason, who also appears alongside JID and Wayne on "Just In Time." "Surround Sound," meanwhile, features 21 Savage and Baby Tate.
