Channel 4 Gogglebox viewers in tears as first episode of new series ends with heartbreaking message

Gogglebox fans were left upset on Friday night as the first episode of the new series ended with a tribute to a star who recently died.
The Channel 4 series was back on screens to the delight of fans, who were excited to see their favourites back on their sofas chatting about telly, Liverpool Echo reports.
The Gogglebox family sat down to watch the likes of Gladiators and This Morning as the much-loved show returned for a new series. They also watched some clips of Saltburn, the divisive thriller that came out at the end of last year.

Viewers were happy to have Gogglebox back, with families like the Sandifords and the Warners making us smile again, but the end of the show left some in tears. As the credits rolled, the show paid tribute to a member of the Gogglebox family who passed away earlier this year.
Stephen Webb's mum, Pat, died last month at the age of 75. Pat Webb joined the show after her son's ex-partner Chris Butland-Steed left. Pat was later replaced by Stephen's husband Daniel before they both stepped back from Gogglebox last year.
Pat had been sick for a while and Gogglebox showed a special message for her at the end of the show, which fans were touched by. ThisTVGuy wrote on X, formerly Twitter: "That ending with Pat on #Gogglebox was sad"
Susan shared: "RIP Mummy Pat Webb" and an emotional Greg posted: "RIP Pat Webb". Jodi expressed her sorrow saying: "Aww Mummy Pat Webb".
