Kris Marshall has opened up on his nerves ahead of the new series of Beyond Paradise. The show, which is a spin-off of BBC's Death In Paradise, is due to return to our screens very soon. Following the successful first series last year, it was renewed for a Christmas special and a second series.
With the full cast set to return to the fictional town of Shipton Abbott, fans have been eagerly awaiting the next instalment. Lead actor Kris, who plays DI Humphrey Goodman, spoke to OK! at the TV Choice Awards about his jitters ahead of the latest season, He said: "It's the first time I've done it, but when you do a spin-off of a show, and one as successful as Death In Paradise, there's a certain amount of trepidation. I really hope this works out well.
If it works out badly, it's not a great look for me." The star added that he enjoys filming in the Caribbean and the UK equally, despite the contrasting climates. Weighing up the pros and cons of each location, he said: "I'm all about the sea. You get in the sea in the Caribbean and it's like a bath.
It's wonderfully warm and beautiful, but there are sharks in it. You get in the sea in Cornwall, it's a bit colder, it's still really refreshing, and there's no sharks." The BBC has yet to confirm the start date for the new series. But speaking on The One Show, Kris previously revealed: "We've got some amazing mysteries this year.
We're bigger, we're better. "We've got a murder on a steam train, a medium who predicts arson attacks - that's quite a good one - a local fishing legend lost at sea. We've got loads of good stuff.
The show's funnier, bigger, better.
