Celebrity Gogglebox stars were brought to tears during an emotional Stand Up To Cancer episode after watching a heartbreaking video of a "brave" young girl with cancer.
The celebrity line-up, which included Boiling Point actor Stephen Graham and Strictly's Bobby Brazier, learned the upsetting story of 11-year-old Elizabeth in the Friday, 3 November, episode.
The youngster was diagnosed with cancer throughout her body, including in her bones, lungs and her brain, but sadly died while they were filming the fundraising Channel 4 show. Adding even more emotion to the moving story, the celebrities and viewers learned that Elizabeth's own mum died of cancer while she was undergoing treatment.
As the video started playing, comedian Bob Mortimer commented that "She seems like a fighter doesn't she?," while Dave Griffiths - of "Dave and Shirley" - said he couldn't believe how "brave" Elizabeth was, as he teared up. Absolutely Fabulous star Jennifer Lumley and her actress daughter Beatie Edmondson were also moved by the footage, with both crying by the end of the clip.
Actor Stephen, known for the likes of Bodies on Netflix and the BBC's Line of Duty, was also incredibly upset by the footage. As it ended, he declared to his wife Hannah Walters, who also stars in Boiling Point, and their children Alfie and Grace, "I love yous all".
Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Sherzinger and her fiancé Thom Evans were also touched by Elizabeth's bravery, with Nicole saying "Oh my gosh" as she heard the young girl tell her story. The special Celebrity episodes of Gogglebox raise money for the Stand Up To Cancer charity and attracts big names from stage and screen.
