CCTV appeal to identify woman days after search teams called to Bridgewater Canal

Police have issued an urgent CCTV appeal to identify a woman, days after search teams were called out to the Bridgewater Canal in Salford. Officers want to identify the female following a report for the concern of her welfare on Woden Street Bridge in Salford on Sunday night (September 4).
The force has now released CCTV images of the red haired female, thought to be in her late teens, as they appeal for information in identifying her. Footage shows a female, believed to be her, leaving Pomona Strand and walking along Trafford Road towards Salford Quays.
The M.E.N reported how a huge emergency services presence were called to Woden Street, across the river from Pamona Wharf and St George's Island - just before midnight on Sunday evening. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service later confirmed that no casualty was found following the search.

Detective Inspector Matt Dixon, of Stretford CID , said: “Although we are aware the attached CCTV images are unclear, we’re hoping that someone may know who this person is. We are really just wanting to make sure that they are safe and well. If you have any information, or you are the person pictured, then please get in touch with us”.
Following the search on Sunday, a spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 11.55pm on Sunday, September 4, two fire engines from Salford fire station along with the water incident unit and technical rescue unit attended Woden Street, Salford following reports that a person may be in the water.
