It's been almost six months since Cat Deeley and Ben Shepherd were announced as the co-hosts of This Morning following a dramatic shakeup on the ITV daytime show. But according to a source, Cat, who moved from LA back to the UK to take on the role, is already missing her lavish lifestyle and fears she's made a 'mistake.' 2023 proved to be a tumultuous year for This Morning, with Phillip Schofield announcing he would be leaving the show after 20 years, amid reports of a rift with his co-host Holly Willoughby.
Just days after he stepped down, he admitted to an "unwise but not illegal" affair with a much younger colleague. Holly Willoughby then quit just five months later, after facing an alleged kidnap threat.
With their vast presenting experience, Cat and Good Morning Britain star Ben were brought in, in a bid to save the show, but Cat is now said to be 'feeling the pressure' after ratings began plummeting since the pair took over. Bosses were delighted when a million viewers initially tuned in to see Ben and Cat's big debut, but just months later, viewers had dramatically dropped by half.
"Cat is really feeling the pressure at This Morning and knows there is a lot riding on her and Ben to get it right," a source told us. "She is really loving working with Ben and the partnership that they are building but she’s well aware of the critics and the falling ratings.
"She feels she and Ben haven’t been given enough time and that they are the fall guys for everything that went on at the show over the past few years."
