Carnage on street as cars wrecked and wall knocked through in 11-VEHICLE smash

One person was hurt in a crash involving 11 vehicles on a street in Bolton last night.
The smash happened on Church Street in the Horwich area at around 10.35pm on Sunday (Jul 30). A total of 11 vehicles were involved, which included a number of parked cars and vans.
Police, firefighters and paramedics responded to the incident and closed the road for a number of hours. Local residents reported hearing multiple loud bangs last night.

A number of people 'were assessed by paramedics' on the scene and one male was taken to hospital. It has not yet been confirmed whether any arrests were made.
Pictures taken at the scene this morning showed a number of cars and vans left damaged on the street. There was also a hole in a wall nearby.
A spokesperson from Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 10.35pm last night (30 July 2023), officers responded to reports of an RTC in Church Street, Horwich. One person was injured and enquiries are ongoing."
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At approximately 10.45pm on Sunday, 30 July 2023, firefighters were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving 11 vehicles on Church Street in Bolton.
“Two fire engines from Bolton Central and Atherton fire stations quickly attended the scene. Fire crews used lighting, a thermal imaging camera and hearth kit to make the area safe.
“A number of people were assessed by paramedics from Northwest Ambulance Service at the scene, and one person was conveyed to hospital. Fire crews were at the scene for around one hour and thirty minutes.”
