A carer raped an elderly woman in her bedroom at a care home before allegedly telling her he would 'come back and finish the job', a trial has heard.
Stanley Ekhator, 36, of Aldermoor Close, is on trial accused of raping the victim, then aged 76, in December 2022. He denies the charge.
Mr Ekhator had started working at the Manchester care home in May 2021 as a maintenance worker but later trained to be a carer after the home started struggling with staffing due to Covid-19, jurors were told. His wife had been a carer there since December 2020.

Minshull Street Crown Court heard that he showed a 'keen interest' in becoming a carer and took a number of online courses before qualifying in April 2022 - one month after the elderly victim had moved into the residential facility.
As part of his training he undertook a specific course on dementia awareness and other courses on safeguarding adults and managing distressed behaviours, jurors heard. The victim's personal care plan made it 'abundantly clear' she had dementia and 'lacked capacity to make decisions', prosecutors said.
Prosecuting, Mr Ben Lawrence alleged that between 3.15am and 3.30am on December 17 2022, when Ekhator was working a night shift, he raped the elderly victim in her room.
The claims came to light after her son visited her later that day when she was 'agitated' and 'limping' with a 'swollen right foot', prosecutors said.
"When he (her son) asked her about it, she said that she had been attacked, then that she had been raped," Mr Lawrence told the court. "Police officers attended at around midday. It was recorded on a body worn camera.
