Neon has just announced that “Titane,” directed by acclaimed French filmmaker Julia Ducournau (“Raw“), has been given an October 1 release date in the U.S.

NEON has set a theatrical release date for its Cannes Film Festival Palme d’Or winner Titane, the distributor’s second after Bong Joon Ho’s 2019 Parasite which continued on to win a historical Best Picture at the Oscars for a foreign film. Titane will be hitting theaters on Oct. 1. NEON acquired Titane back in September 2019.

It was a sweaty fest full of tourists more interested in the beach than the world premieres and lots of spitting in testing vials for non-Europeans, but it proved that a major festival could return at full capacity during the age of COVID.

Mj Rodriguez has become the first transgender performer to be nominated for an Emmy in a lead acting role. Rodriguez’s nomination comes after playing Blanca Rodriguez in FX’s show Pose.
