Nicola Coughlan has revealed that she auditioned for another Netflix series, Stranger Things. The Bridgerton star admitted that she auditioned for the role of Robin Buckley in series 3, who works with Steve Harrington in Scoop’s Ahoy ice cream parlour. Despite, her staggering success in the regency drama, the 35 year old missed out on the part which went to Maya Hawke.

Nicola Coughlan is opening up about some of her past auditions and revealed she did go out for a role on Netflix’s Stranger Things!

Ben Shephard joked that Susanna Reid’s career “peaked” as they discussed “bonking” in Bridgerton on Good Morning Britain. The co-hosts of the ITV morning show were chatting about how the first season of the hit Netflix series had many steamy scenes, but the second series is notably different and many fans have been disappointed.

Bridgerton fans were thrilled when they tuned into the first episode of the Netflix regency drama and heard Nicola Coughlan use her real accent. Nicola, 35, is best known for her role in the Channel 4 sitcom Derry Girls based in Ireland and in season two of Bridgerton, Nicola got to showcase her Irish accent. In the hit Netflix series, Nicola stars as Penelope Featherington who typically speaks with a posh London accent as she is the youngest daughter of a nouveau-riche family in the period drama.

Season two of Bridgerton has finally landed on Netflix today, Friday 25th March and we are so excited about its return. It feels like ages since we finished binge watching the first series of the hit romantic period drama meaning we are well overdue our next dose of scandal and sexual conflict.
