A bare-footed boy of four wearing pyjamas crashed his mother's car in Utrecht, police in the Dutch city have revealed. The child crashed into two parked cars and then coolly left the scene of the accident.
Police in the city described the incident in the in the suburb of Overvecht north of the city in an post on on Sunday titled 'new Max Verstappen discovered', comparing the lad to the Dutch Formula One world champion racing driver known for his aggressive style.
Describing the Saturday night incident, officers said they were called to the suburb and found the boy walking barefoot and in his pyjamas in the street following a report by a concerned by-stander. They checked him over and gave him a teddy bear.

But with no sign of his parents, the officers drove the lad back to their police station to make more inquiries and gave him hot chocolate. Soon afterwards, police colleagues learned of reports of a car that had been abandoned by the driver after crashing into two parked vehicles in the same suburb.
Officers made further enquiries and found the abandoned car was registered to the boy's mother. When she was contacted on the phone, the mother told officers her child was 'very resourceful'. The phone was handed to her son and she was able to comfort him.
The amazed officers watched the lad motion with his hands how to open a car door, put the key in the ignition before moving his feet to an imaginary clutch and accelerator.
Explaining their conclusions, the police wrote: "When the child's father went to work, the child woke up and grabbed the car keys to go for a drive. The two parked cars were hit. The child then got out and ran away in his pyjamas.
