Willie Limond has tragically died ahead of his return to the ring following a seizure while driving.
The Scottish boxer died just weeks before he was scheduled to make a comeback, after suffering what is suspected to have been a seizure when behind the wheel. At 45 years old, Limond had an impressive record, securing 42 wins out of 48 bouts, with knockouts in 13 of those triumphs.
His career highlights include clinching the European super-featherweight title, as well as the Commonwealth titles in both the lightweight and super-lightweight divisions, not to mention the British super-lightweight championship over his 24 years in the sport. Tragically, the Glasgow native, who was a father to two sons, was found unresponsive in his vehicle last week, mere hours before he was due to participate in a public training event in the city.
