BBC Strictly Come Dancing disaster after Adam Thomas 'banned from rehearsals'

Strictly Come Dancing's Adam Thomas was banned from rehearsals earlier this week, according to reports. The Waterloo road star's illness has potentially thrown this weekend's show into chaos.
The actor - who is paired with Luba Muchstuk - reportedly missed vital rehearsal time, reports the Mirror. Revealing he'd fallen ill, the 35-year-old posted a photo of himself in bed earlier this week.
Taking to Instagram, he told fans: “Of all weeks to be poorly!” adding that he'd been drinking Berocca and coffee in an attempt to recover.
Adam appears to have recovered from the bug, as he appeared on Strictly's spin-off It Takes Two on Thursday evening – alongside his partner Luba. He also shared a snap of himself with ice packs on his knees after on his Instagram story – hinting he had been training that day too, with the reported ban now lifted.
Adam is set to take the dancefloor on Saturday night with Luba for their Couple's Choice dance to a Backstreet Boys medley. However, it remains to be seen how they will perform after missing rehearsals.
BBC bosses are reportedly terrified that the winter flu – which Adam is believed to have had – will wipe out the cast and this is the reason the actor was stopped from training and temporarily banned by bosses.
A source told The Sun: “Strictly have been banning the celebs and the pros from training if they’re ill in a bid to stop them from spreading it. Naturally everyone on the show just wants to show up and carry on. But if they’re spreading their lurgy it could have a big knock on effect. Strictly should be about sparkles and sequins – not snot!”
