We've had plenty of near-perfect scores but it appears one couple is likely to get the 'perfect 40' when Strictly Come Dancing returns to Blackpool. The BBC One dance contest is now in week nine and the show's cast and crew will be making its special trip to the seaside town on Saturday (November 18).
As is an annual tradition, the seven remaining couples still vying for the Glitterball trophy will perform in the iconic Tower Ballroom in a bid to remain in the competition as the final edges ever closer.
And according to past stats, it is likely Strictly fans will be able to celebrate with the first perfect score of the series so far with Craig Revel Horwood still the only judge yet to find his elusive '10' paddle.

Research from William Hill Vegas has singled out this weekend’s episode of Strictly as a very likely date for any contestant to score the first Perfect 40 of the series. However, Layton Williams being given a couple's choice routine in this Saturday’s show in Blackpool served the perfect opportunity to record four scores of 10 from the judges.
Layton has flirted with achieving the score throughout the series, receiving 39 points from the judges in weeks five and eight. It was also revealed last weekend, when the actor and his dance partner Nikita Kuzmin topped the leaderboard in yet another week, that the pair have come first for a total of four times on the Saturday show.
But the inherent flexibility and creative freedom afforded by the couple’s choice routine may be enough to bump up the Bad Education actor to the magic 40 mark.
