Strictly Come Dancing stars Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola have been announced as the winners of this year's 2023 series.
After 13 weeks of gruelling rehearsals, perfected performances and ballroom drama, the dance couple have claimed the Glitterball Trophy prize, beating runners up Bobby Brazier and Layton Williams in the BBC dancing contest. The Corrie star, 22, and her professional dance partner were left overwhelmed after their victory when they received the most public votes during tonight's live final.
Tonight they performed three different routines for the judges, starting with the judge's pick of a Paso Doble to Insomnia by 2WEI followed by their show dance of Jennifer Lopez Megamix 'On the floor'. Their final Strictly performance was an American Smooth dance to 'Ain’t That A Kick In The Head' by Robbie Williams.
Despite receiving the lowest score of 115 from the judges tonight, behind Bobby and Dianne at 117 and Layton and Nikita at 119, Ellie and Vito came out on top after receiving the most votes from viewers at home. The dance couple received scores of 10's from all four judges for their spectacular finale performance with Anton Du Beke being left visibly emotional.
The 22-year-old actress and Italian dancer Vito have had undeniable chemistry on the show with the couple sweetly dedicating the glimmering trophy to one another. Professional choreographer Vito, 31, stole fans' hearts as he told viewers "she's my winner" in reference to Ellie.
In turn, the Corrie star told hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman that her rumoured beau Vito had "changed her life" as she began to tear up ahead of their big win. The judge's votes were not counted on tonight's episode, leaving the three finalists' fates completely in the
