With the nail-biting conclusion of EastEnders’ Christmas whodunnit storyline now just over a week away, eagle eyed fans are eagerly clutching at the crumbs of clues that may give an indication of which star will meet his maker, and who will deal the killing blow. So far, multiple theories have continued to swirl among fans - but after Thursday’s episode, more and more viewers are convinced that Jack Branning could be the mysterious victim to die, with multiple suspects in the frame to lay claim to his life.
Things first kicked off when Stacey Slater and Jack shared a charged moment together after Stacey received a Christmas card from her stalker Theo, someone she wrongly feared was behind her friend Eve Unwin’s disappearance. Reporting her concerns to the police, Stacey was devastated to realise there was nothing that could be done - something which lead to her phoning Theo and leaving him a threatening message out of desperation.
Later in the episode, Stacey fretted when she arrived home to find the door on the latch as she feared Theo had returned, but Jack soon arrived and reassured her that there was no-one inside. During an emotional heart to heart, Stacey revealed she had threatened Theo, prompting Jack to scold her, and for Stacey to retaliate by swiftly biting back - however while apologising to him after having time to cool down, the pair shared a steamy kiss.
It was this kiss in particular that lead many fans to believe could trigger Jack’s downfall, with two possible killers in the frame to take his life.
Taking to social media to share their thoughts on the subject, one fan wrote: “History repeating for Stacey. A THIRD BRANNING MAN! I love them ( sorry not sorry) .
