Call the Midwife has been on viewers' screens since 2012, with the midwifery drama building up a plethora of loyal followers over the years.
Scottish star Laura Main originally starred as Sister Bernadette and, later, Nurse Shelagh Turner on the show and has become a fan favourite throughout her time on the show.
The 42-year-old actress has often spoken openly about her time on the show, often updating fans on her busy acting career.
However, the Aberdeen-born actress keeps her private life away from the limelight.
Laura is known to keep her personal life away from the glitz and glam of the showbiz world.
However, it's been reported that the star is not married - but previously had a relationship with theatre actor Stephen McGlynn between 2012 and 2017 after they met while they were appearing in a production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's musical, State Fair.
Sadly, the couple parted ways after five years of romance and she is currently believed to be single.
Laura didn't regularly speak about her former romance, but once revealed to Entertainment Daily that their busy schedules often clashed, meaning they didn't get to spend that crucial quality time together.
She spoke candidly of her relationship: "In fact, it's actually got to the point where we are watching different DVD box sets.
"But when we have odd days off together, we like to see a matinee at the theatre or cinema."
Laura kept coy about their split, too, but did reveal to The Sunday Post: "If anyone were to look on the internet, they would think I was still in a relationship, but let's just say I am now single."
Laura enjoys spending time with her family and has a strong family unit, she often spends time with her two older sisters and her nieces and nephews.
