Emma Vardy told BBC Breakfast viewers she’s leaving the famous red sofa soon. The journalist has been covering for Nina Warhurst while she’s been on maternity leave with her third child - and is now heading off on her own.
Emma, 42, told followers on X, formerly Twitter, her news as she shared a snap of herself sitting on top of two laundrette machines.
She hinted she doesn’t know the gender of her unborn tot as she held up two t-shirts - one green and one red, as writes the Mirror.
Emma, who looked incredible in a lime green dress which showed off her baby bump, said: “ Well that's me off on mat leave!! Resigned to an eternity of housewife chores & dirty laundry. Career girl out. (And if u believe that you'll believe anything). Celebrated the start of this new chapter with cocktails at this perfectly disguised speakeasy!! #TheWashhouse."
Fans loved the update, with one writing: "All the best Emma … come back soon, you’re one of the best journalists on the Beeb." A second said: "Good luck, it was nice having you on BBCBreakfast.”
