Antiques Roadshow regularly has viewers on the edge of their seats as they eagerly wait to find out what certain objects are worth, but the BBC show also occasionally reduces fans to tears. Over the years, hundreds of guests have appeared on the show, with some taking on very sentimental objects to have them valued by the team of experts, sometimes in the hope of cashing in and other times out of curiosity. From a childhood teddy bear worth thousands to a sentimental Rolex watch, take a look at the most tear-jerking Antiques Roadshow moments... £250,000 medal In one episode, which took place from Pollok Park in Scotland, a guest brought in an old war medal which belonged to his father. Expert Mark Smith told the guest: "This is the ultimate moment because there is only one medal which every medal collector craves to have in their collection.
Actually just to see one out of a case in a museum is an incredible treat because it is the Victoria Cross, the highest award this country has for bravery." The guest informed Mark that the Cross was awarded to his father, Captain Gian Singh, in Burma in World War 2. Mark then read the copy of the citation, explaining why it was awarded, prompting the guest to open up about his father. The guest said: "I think he used to get emotional whenever he talked about it.
Obviously he lost a lot of friends in that battle." Mark then told him that the medal is worth £250,000 pounds, however the guest said he wouldn't sell it. He added: "Wow. Even if it's worth two million, ten million, I won't part with it, no way" and then he wiped away two tears.
