Sony’s Spider-Man: No Way Home snared a leading three trophies including Best Superhero Movie at the second annual Critics Choice Super Awards, which were announced today. Netflix’s Squid Game and Disney+’s WandaVision topped the TV field with three wins each. See the full winners list below.

Spider-Man spin-off film Madame Web.The Euphoria actress, who joins lead star Dakota Johnson in the movie, has been confirmed for the project in an undisclosed role [via Deadline].In the Marvel comics, Madame Web is an elderly woman with neuromuscular disease myasthenia gravis. She’s connected to a life-support system that resembles the web of a spider, earning her the nickname Madame Web.The character doesn’t fight any villains in the comics due to her condition and age.

Euphoria and White Lotus star has officially joined the cast of Madame Web, Sony's first female-centric Marvel superhero film, and will co-star opposite Dakota Johnson, who has been cast in the titular role.Madame Web is currently in development, with the only announced cast members being Sydney and Dakota. The film will be directed by S.J.

While it took Sony’s Spider-verse to get off the ground and the results were clunky—“Venom” seemingly being a love or hate proposition for some—the entity is up and running about to take off either way. Two “Venom” films are in the can, a crossover with “Spider-Man” has been teased, “Morbius” hits in April, and “Kraven The Hunter” is due in early 2023.
