Flamengo have confirmed that Andreas Pereira has returned to Manchester United after his loan spell with the Brazilian giants came to an end.
The 26-year-old played 53 games for Flamengo since joining the club on loan last August, scoring eight times, including a magnificent goal in his final game for the club in the Copa Libertadores earlier this week.
United and Flamengo had held talks about making the move permanent but they have come to nothing and his contract with the Brazilian side ended on Thursday.

Fulham have made a bid of around £11million for Pereira and with just a year remaining on his contract he could make the switch to the Premier League new boys.
A Flamengo statement released on Friday said: "Clube de Regatas do Flamengo announces the end of the contract with athlete Andreas Pereira on the 30th [of June] and thanks for the professionalism during the entire period in which he wore the Sacred Mantle. We wish you success in your career progression."
After scoring against Columbian side Deportes Tolima on Wednesday, Pereira said he wished to remain at Flamengo.
'I'm not the one who decides - it's up to Man United. I would like to stay at Flamengo, but it's not in my hands. I'll see what's best for me and the club," he said.
"I love Flamengo. We will soon speak and decide. My relationship between me and Flamengo has always been very good. This year was incredible for me.
"If it doesn't work out, I'll always leave with my head held high. I love the club, I love Flamengo, I'm Flamengo. I will come back in the future."
