Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has already backed Feyenoord left-back Tyrell Malacia to make the step up and challenge himself abroad amid his impending move to Manchester United.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News on Wednesday, United have agreed a fee with Feyenoord to bring the Netherlands international to Old Trafford. Malacia, 22, was very close to completing a move to French club Lyon, but United hijacked the move with a last-ditch offer on Tuesday.
The defender, who is currently away on holiday after representing the Netherlands in the Nations League earlier this month, will join United subject to passing a medical. The same, too, can be said for Barcelona ace Frenkie de Jong, who is also closing in on a move to Old Trafford.

Malacia's move to Old Trafford will represent a big step up for him and he will be aiming to challenge the likes of Luke Shaw and Alex Telles for the left-back berth. He has excelled at Feyenoord over the last few seasons and helped them reach the final of the Europa Conference League last term.
And for former Feyenoord boss Van Bronckhorst — who was in charge of the Dutch club when Malacia was making his way through the ranks — the defender has shown enough quality to step up and perform at a club of United's stature. The 47-year-old hailed Malacia after he started the Netherlands' 1-1 draw against Germany back in March and delivered an assured performance.
