Anas Sarwar has accused Humza Yousaf of having his "head in the sand" after a woman was unable to report to two police stations that she was being followed.
During First Minister's Questions today, the Scottish Labour leader raised the "heart-breaking" case of a Blantyre resident who tried to access Cambuslang police station on Tuesday.
The Record previously reported how the woman had be unable to access the closed police station while Sarwar was speaking to journalists.
The person, who asked not to be named, had already tried Blantyre station, but it had been closed. She said that she had been being followed and was "upset".
The woman then had to go to Rutherglen police station instead.
Sarwar had been in the constituency campaigning for the Rutherglen and Hamilton West by-election. All three stations in the constituency are reportedly set to close.
Sarwar said on Thursday at FMQs: "This is actually, this is a very serious issue because it is important for people right across communities because earlier this week, when I was in Cambuslang, I met a distressed woman trying to report a serious incident to the police.
"Her local station in Blantyre was closed, so she travelled several miles to Cambuslang, only to find the station there was also closed.
"Our conversation was a heart-breaking example of what a loss of local policing means for communities.
"And soon people all across Scotland will be faced with the same situation. Police Scotland being forced to consider closing 30 stations.
"So when will residents be told which local police stations are closing?
"And can the First Minister tell us why he approves of these plans to decimate the police presence and Scotland's communities?"
