A four-year-old took her fight for better funding for disabled children to the Scottish Parliament and managed to unite opposition parties.
Little Eilish Cowan from Dunfermline has a rare genetic disability shared by around just 200 children in the world.
She has an abnormality in a gene called TUBA1A which means she struggles to walk and is visually impaired. She also has a learning disability.
Her dad Lawrence launched the Our Kids Won’t Wait campaign this summer calling on the Scottish Government to introduce a fairer funding deal for charities which support families with disabled children.
And little Eilish worked her charm to unite Labour, Tories and Lib-Dems and get them to offer help to First Minister Humza Yousaf to tackle the problem.
After meeting the politicians Eilish said: “I love the Scottish Parliament.”
And that she was “proud” of what she had achieved.
Almost 2,000 people have signed an online petition urging Yousaf to rethink the decision to roll forward the Children and Young People Early Intervention Fund (CYPEIF) based on a funding level set seven years ago.
Campaigners say the move is “short changing” charities like The Yard, which Eilish attends, which have needed to grow significantly to meet demand.
And today the leaders of the Scotland’s opposition parties signed a letter to Yousaf calling for “fairer funding” for disabled children.
In the letter Labour leader Anas Sarwar, Lib-Dem leader Alex Cole-Hamilton and Tory leader Douglas Ross wrote: “We are offering to work with you and the Scottish Government in establishing a fairer funding model to support children with disabilities.
“The recent decision to roll forward the Children and Young People Early Intervention Fund (CYPEIF) grants at 2016 levels

Kevin Spacey was met with a standing ovation last night (October 16) as he returned to the stage for the first time since being cleared of sexual assault charges.Spacey performed a brief scene from the Shakespeare play Timon Of Athens at a theatre in Oxford, during a lecture held in memory of the late conservative philosopher Roger Scruton.Evidently, the extract had been chosen for a reason. Douglas Murray, the conservative columnist who delivered the lecture and invited Spacey to perform in Oxford and delivered the lecture, told the Times that Timon of Athens was about what “happens when a society drops a person for no reason”.Views of Scruton’s legacy remain divisive, and while his work was admired by conservatives, he has been accused of fuelling modern anti-immigrant sentiment. In July, Spacey was acquitted of all nine charges he was facing, including seven counts of sexual assault, one count of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent, and one count of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity. He was accused of sexual offences against four men, alleged to have taken place between 2001 and 2013.
